She was born in June 1983 in Erevan and grew up in Kiev.
She took her first piano lesson at the age of 5, later entering the Lisenko Central Music School for especially gifted children from which she graduated with honours in 2000.
From 2001 until 2007 she studied at the Munich Hochschule für Musik und Theater with Prof.ElisoVirsaladze , and obtained the Meisterklassenpodium
Moreover she took part in masterclasses with Andras Schiff, and Paul Badura-Skoda.
Lilian Akopova is a holder of the "Vladimir Spivakov","Vladimir Krainev ","Gulbenkian Foundation", "DAAD", "Yehudi Menuhin, Live Music Now" scholarships.
Prize Winner at the 20th Busoni International Piano Competition in Bolzano, 2007, First Prize Winner in numerous competitions (2005 International Piano Competition "Premio Sulmona" in Sulmona, Italy, 2005 "Rome International Piano Competition" in Rome, 1996 Vladimir Krainev International Piano Competition in Kharkov, Ukraine, and in 2003, Steinway Prize in Munich), second Prize at the "Premio Jaen" in 2002, Lilian Akopova developed a concerting activity in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Romania, Italy, Spain, Germany, Austria, USA, France, playing in prestigeous concert halls (Salle Cortot- Paris, Konzerthaus -Berlin, Palau de la Musica -Valencia, Teatro Bibiena- Mantova).
Acclaimed by the audience and the critics (for a "fantastic recital", "giving in Schumann's Carnaval all her flame"- Mantova Guarda) Lilian Akopova appears regularly as a soloist with the State Orchestra of Moscow, with the Klagenfurt Symphony Orchestra, the State Symphony Ochestra of Ukraine, the Haydn Orchestra in Italy, under the direction of Gottfried Schneider, Enrique Garcia Asencio, Arthur Fagen…
She is invited to international festivals as: "Vladimir Krainev Invites", "In memory of Svjatoslav Richter", Ukraine, "Oleg Kogan International Music Festival" in Kreuth, Germany, "Jeunes Talents" in Paris and "Citta di Rimini", Italy, Kissinger Sommer…
Among her chamber music partners are Wen Xiao Zheng, Lena Neudauer, Roman Patkoló. She also collaborates with the actors Peter Simonischek, Wolf Euba.
In the last season, mains venues included concerts at the Festival Festival Classic Young Stars in Berlin, Stavanger Festival - Norway, in Saint-Yreix - France, and at the Mozartiade in Augsburg.
Ms. Akopova recorded for the "Bayerische Rundfunk", and was broadcast on French, Italian, Ukrainian, Romanian radios and televisions.
Her first CD recording, dedicated to Schumann and Mendelssohn, appeared at GENUIN Classics.
